Our client is mining one of the world's largest and lowest-cost copper and gold operations in Papua, Indonesia. They are seeking to employ for their processing plant on a permanent basis a Manager Mill Operations.

The purpose of this position is:

Direct, manage and control all Mill Operating activities to maximize production of copper and gold in salable and shippable concentrates targeted by the company, within the budget, in a timely, safe and environmentally friendly manner.

The key duties and responsibilities of this position are:

* Direct, manage and control operation of all concentrators to produce copper and gold concentrates which meet the quality and quantity standards set by the company, in a safe and environmentally friendly manner.
* Develop, manage and control operating and capital budgets to ensure that all expenditures achieve desired outcome, and do not exceed the approved amounts.
* Direct, manage and control manpower management activities to ensure manpower administration is according to company's and government regulation and industry's best practices.
* Provide information and direction for plant expansions and modifications, which are accomplished in a timely manner.
* Stay abreast of new technology and opportunities that improve productions, quality, cost, safety and environmental performance. Implement in timely manner.
* Provide engineering, processing, metallurgical and management expertise for the training of National employees.
* Promote safety and environmental awareness to all employees in Mill Operations Department to minimize.
* Provide engineering, processing, metallurgical and management expertise for the training of National employees.
* Promote safety and environmental awareness to all employees in Concentrating Operations Department to minimize accidents and environmental damage.
* Develop and implement Training and Development programs to improve employee's skill levels, percentage of national employee in management and professional positions, ratio of supervisors to workforce, number of management levels, skills flexibility, counterpart program and accountability for roles and responsibility.

The key challenges in this position include:

* Manage and control operation activities of North, South, C3 and C4 concentrators at Mile 74.
* Ability to communication operating strategy throughout areas of responsibility
* Manage a very large number of employees, with different culture and skills
* Ability to stay in good health given the deadlines and long working hours

The background, education and work experience needed to succeed in this job are:

An undergraduate degree in Chemical, Metallurgy, Mineral Process Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical discipline with 10-20 years practical experience

The key areas in which you have decision-making responsibility are:

* Production Decisions, which include scheduled maintenance downtime an the manner in which equipment is operated.
* Vacatiion schedules, Training schedules and content, non-staff employee promotion, assignment of light vehicles computers and a variety of other resources.

Capital SIB budget: US$ 27 million.
Expansion budget: US$ 20 million
Total production (copper and gold) at the value of 2 Billion USD
Capital assets: US$ 1 billion
* Non Financial:
Number of subordinates: 252 employees (22 staff and 230 non-staff)
Number of direct subordinates: 2 employees
Ore Flow and Mill throughput: 245,000 tons per day
Total Production Metal - Cu 1.7-2.0 Blbs, Au 2.5-3.3 MOz
