Position Duties:
Maintain strict compliance with all applicable internal, state, and federal ventilation requirements
Requirements include maintaining proper climatic and contaminant levels underground, producing ventilation plans for submittal to regulatory agencies, managing the diesel engine permits, and participating as required in the process of establishing new standards and developing new technologies (DPM, etc.)
Construct and maintain an accurate computer ventilation model for the entire underground complex.
Audit and optimize the existing main, booster, and auxiliary ventilation systems.
Work closely with mine supervision and the miners to provide the best possible ventilation conditions in all active workplaces.
Develop and maintain a fan management system.
Sustain, in conjunction with key site personnel, a comprehensive ventilation monitoring system.
Provide project engineering/project management on an as needed basis for any special projects related to ventilation systems.
Develop and mange the ventilation capital budget and assist with management of the operating ventilation budget.
