Permanent senior level position in the Mining sector in Phalaborwa in South Africa (Limpopo). Benefits: Housing, Medical Aid, Pension.
Job Content
The candidate will be responsible for the geological functions associated with mining and ore processing, which will include:• Weekly monitoring of dolerite draw points, analysing this information and recommending modifications to draw control strategy. • Analysis of production and grade data and reporting on these. • Development of geological/geotechnical database incorporating information from all possible sources, database management and upkeep. • Supervision of underground exploration drilling program and logging of core. • Understanding and generating figures for annual reserve and resource report.• Geotechnical monitoring of open pit sidewall stability.
Intrinsic Qualities
• Good verbal communication skills.• Commitment to safe work practices.• Ability to work in a team environment.• Basic understanding of geologic and geotechnical issues in a mining environment.• Practical approach to problem solving.• Knowledge and use of MS Office software and experience in geological modeling software.
• BSc.Hons/MSc in Geology/Mining Geology
• Candidates with practical experience will be preferred.
This Mine is situated close to the Kruger National Park. Good schools and low crime rate with a Holiday Like Atmosphere. 5 Min drive from home to work.
