A leading, mid-tier international gold producer with annual production of close to 1 million ounces from operations located in North America, South America and Africa is looking for a Senior Mining Project Engineer to join the engineering technical services team at one its flagship operations in South America. The Company has a number of development projects underway that provide a strong platform for continual growth. This is an exciting career opportunity with a company that has experienced rapid growth and has ambitious plans for the future.
The Senior Mining Project Engineer is responsible for:
• Development of mid and long term mine plans for the budgeting process, including estimates of fleet requirements, consumables, staffing level and capital expenditures.
• Initiate new projects which have the potential to add value to the operation.
• Planning of proposed projects and the resources required for each project over time.
• Assist with various aspects of tailings dam management, pit dewatering and open pit slope stability.
The position reports to the Engineering Superintendent.
The ideal candidate will be a Mining Engineer with a minimum of 5 years experience in open pit operations. A sound knowledge of practical mine planning & design is required together with a reasonable level of fluency with mining software. You will have excellent communication skills in English.
