Our client, CBH Resources, is developing the Panorama Project located 160km by road from Port Headland, 100 kilometres of which is a sealed highway. The project is based on development of the Sulphur Springs copper-zinc ore body.
A bankable feasibility study has been completed and environmental approvals are being finalized for a 1.5Mt p.a. open-cut mine and ore processing plant to produce 80,000 tonnes per annum of copper concentrates (25% Cu) and 90,000 tonnes per annum of zinc concentrates (53% Zn). A concentrate loading facility is present at Port Hedland.
The Company now requires the services of a suitably qualified and experienced Mine Planning Engineer to join the project team in Perth.
The successful candidate will be a key team member of the engineering department with a range of duties including:
• Mine design and scheduling for the life of mine
• Regular update of the mining schedule
• Implementation and management of mine design and optimisation software (including survey functionality)
• Development and costing of owner operator scenarios for Board approval
To be considered for this role applicants should:
• Be tertiary qualified in Mining Engineering or related degree
• Have at least five years operational mining experience in open cut metaliferous environment
• Possess a high degree of computer literacy (Surpac skills highly regarded)
• Previous experience in a start-up operation advantageous
• Possess, or be willing to work towards a WA Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Certificate or First Class Mine Managers Certificate
• Capacity to work independently as well as with a small team is required
The role is initially based in Perth then operating on a FIFO roster to the site. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in a startup operation. A competitive salary will be negotiated to attract the best candidate.
