Our client, a joint venture operation located in Northern Kazakhstan, has an immediate requirement for a Trade qualified Heavy Equipment Fitter / Diesel Fitter with significant experience within the mining industry for their open pit gold mining operation. Among the ten largest countries in the world by area, Kazakhstan boasts a booming mining industry currently valued at over US$3bn and contributes close to 30% of the country's export earnings and 19% of all industrial production. The Kazakhstan mining industry is forecast to grow an average 8.81% per annum over 2008-2012, with the industry value reaching US$5.69bn in 2012.
You will be responsible for:
Supervising the maintenance and repair of their fleet of Komatsu excavators and loaders, and Atlas Copco and Ingersoll rand drills
Introducing service sheets and provide training in all aspects of servicing and maintenance
Set up required inventory for consumables and warehouse stock, tooling, parts locations and purchasing processes
Delivering presentations to management on the roles, responsibilities and goals of the maintenance department
Identifying and acting on strengths and weaknesses within the team
Identifying areas of potential cost reduction
Ensuring maximum component life is being achieved at the lowest possible cost at the highest possible standard
Maintaining close working relationships with maintenance Superintendent, Supervisors and operational maintenance teams
Inspecting failed/pre-failed components to verify accuracy of PM schedule
Attending tool box meetings to communicate the daily plan to maintenance teams
To be considered for this position it is essential that you hold Mechanical Trade Qualifications and possess significant experience in the mechanical maintenance to Komatsu machinery and Atlas Copco drills.
This position will operate off either a 12 weeks on x 4 weeks off roster or will offer residential status for singles or families with non-school aged children. The site is located approximately 30 minutes from the city where an apartment is provided for employees. Meals are provided whilst at site. An attractive remuneration package is on offer.
