MINE MANAGER - MINING SYSTEMS Mali
Contract management level position in the Mining sector in Mali.
PURPOSE
Design and implement new systems to optimize the mining of the ore-body and ensure mining standards developed are followed, maintained and/or improved.
The role also involves relieving the existing Mine Managers and mentoring the existing Managers
The role will allow skills exchange programmes to be implemented for the existing Managers with similar mines.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Review current mining methods with a view to improving the systems and practices.
• Identify performance gaps in production, development and services performance and design new systems to eliminate constraints.
• Promote safety by providing training and investigation of incidents/high risk situations.
• Review operating and capital requirements within the mining departments to identify opportunities for cost improvements.
• Review and recommend initiatives to improve productivities of underground mining operations.
• Responsible for reviewing the adequacy of current mining training systems for up to Manager level.
• Ensure management succession by assisting HR to select, train and develop mining personnel.
• Review performance reporting systems and design and implement new systems.
• Undertake any other assignment that might be delegated by GM- Mining or the Managing Director
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• B.Sc / HND in Mining Engineering with 10 years management within the mining industry especially in an open stope and other mining methods applicable to steeply dipping narrow veins.
• Experience in stope design and planning will be an added advantage.
• Must have Mine Manager’s certificate of competency
