As a partner with some of the largest Defence projects, we are seeking a Naval Architect for a high profile industry leader in the Naval division.

This role will be based in Adelaide. No other role would offer you such exposure to all disciplines.
An excellent remuneration package will be offered to high calibre candidate with the potential of overseas travelling to liaise business with Europe and/or US.
Responsibilities:
Performs Naval Architecture - calculations/analysis and sub-system/component design.
Working on ship systems and operations and investigative technical report
Perform review and assessments of documents (specifications and design) for technical and contractual adequacy and support of change.
Support ship builder production, test and evaluation, planning, integrated logistics support in Naval Architecture areas
Support the equipment acquisition, material acquisition and fabrication services acquisition including make/buy analysis, technical procurement specification support, source selection, and technical subcontract management for assigned equipment.
Requirements:
1. Degree in Naval Architecture
2. Demonstrable experience in Naval Architecture
3. Understanding of ship design and construction
4. Experience with current naval architecture computer programs
5. Demonstration of good verbal and written communication skills
Desirable:
1. CP Eng or undertaking Continuing Professional Development requirements in preparation for CP Eng
2. Experience designing to varied Naval and Regulatory Body rules
3. Understanding of Structural Engineering implications and requirements in ship design and construction, including analysis of hull structure, equipment foundations and outfitting attachments, utilizing Finite Element Analysis methods as well as traditional hand calculation techniques.
4. Experience in corrosion control, deck system arrangement, habitability, and sea transportation of ship construction blocks and modules.
5. Experience in signature analysis and assessment, including noise, shock, vibration, and radar cross section reduction
Applicants must be eligible to hold an Australian Department of Defence security clearance and MUST be Australian citizens.
