The role of Lead Electrical Engineer will requireyou to be involved in and responsible for all types of engineeringwork including developing solutions, design, drawing mark-ups andchecking, technical construction and commissioning queries,as-built detail documentation and estimating for HV power systems,electrical systems, motor circuits, small power and lightinginstallations.
Your primary role will be as a Lead or Senior Engineer inElectrical teams working on projects and studies. Success inthis position will be directly related to your ability to lead ateam of electrical engineers and designers, investigate theclient?s needs, develop & define the scope of work (plan,schedule and execution strategy) and the deliverables required fora variety of engineering projects.
Duties &Responsibilities
Perform design calculations and documentation
Ensure drawing content portrays the appropriate information and design intent
Prepare EPCM and capital estimates and project schedules
Determine project scope and definition and prepare proposals for submission to clients
Prepare equipment specifications
Prepare detailed design, supply, construction and installation specifications where required
Provide construction and commissioning technical support
Responsible for developing & maintaining electrical engineering standards
Ensure QA processes & checks have been implemented on work performed by the electrical discipline
Have current knowledge of industry and regulatory standards and study criteria pertinent to electrical engineering, ensuring compliance of design work with all relevant legal requirements, engineering standards and internal procedures
Qualifications &Experience
Essential
A recognised Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university
Excellent attitude towards safety and a demonstrated ability to comply with the safety requirements of industrial sites for personal safety, safety in design and project implementation
Proven technical skills in the required areas of work
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Planning and organisational skills
Good general computer literacy
Enthusiasm, confidence and determination
Demonstrated leadership qualities of small engineering project teams
Sound knowledge of Australian and IEC codes and standards
Desirable
RPEQ accreditation or eligible
Metal Refinery, Mining, Infrastructure or Energy sector Experience
Industrial brown field experience
Hazardous Area design experience
