Job 1

The Tully Alliance Project is a $170m road and bridge upgrade that should go until late 2009. Work to improve flooding trouble spots on the Bruce Highway to upgrade the 15.5 kilometer section between Corduroy Creek and Tully High School started in 2007 and will include several new bridges and a change to the alignment of the Bruce Highway. Approaches to the Tully River Bridge will be raised 1.5 meters while the Murray Flats section will be raised by 0.7 meters. The project is located in Tully which is half way between Cairns and Townsville and is a challenging role to deliver a high risk project within the wettest region in Australia. Historically, the region receives over 4m of rainfall every year resulting in closure of the highway for up to 48 hours. The roster is 11 days on, three days off with a flight home every month for a long weekend. Salary is approx $100 - $115k + 9% super + car + fuel card + $15k site allowance + $500 per week tax free living away from home allowance + laptop + mobile phone + return flights home once a month. This is a permanent role with a choice of being based out or either the Brisbane, Cairns, Mackay or Townsville office but working on this project until late 2009. Most of the staff is living at Mission Beach. We are specifically looking for a pavement engineer with at least 4 number of years experience and with exposure to pavements.

Job 2:

Initially you will go to Townsville until Christmas to complete the $35m North Ward rd upgrade. Salary will be approx $90k - $115k + super + car + furnished accommodation + $180 per week allowance for food and an additional 20% on top of your salary as a site allowance. Project specs are duplication of 2 lane arterial road to 4 lanes, Pre-stressed concrete sections & girders, storm water drainage, concrete kerbing & channeling, concrete paving, stabilization pavements, bitumen & asphalt surfacing, extruding concrete barriers, steel guardrails, wire rope barriers, timber and glass noise barriers and street lighting.

Once this project is completed at the end of the year you will return to Brisbane and kick off the $1b Ipswich Motorway Upgrade Alliance. This is a major civil infrastructure project in Brisbane with up to 3 years worth of work. It doesn?t get any better than this.

Job 3:

The Bundaberg Ring Road Project will begin on the Isis Highway in the west and connect to the Bundaberg-Bargara Road in the east, covering a distance of 14.3 km. Five major intersections will be constructed for the ring road. Four will feature traffic lights and one (FE Walker intersection) will have an overpass and traffic lights. Construction started at the end of 2007 with completion by mid-2009. The project is expected to cost in excess of $92 million.

7.4km of Bundaberg ring road
2 x single span bridges

Our client is the head contractor delivering this landmark project in Bundaberg. Operating in the civil works arena since 1976, they have major experience in projects involving bulk earthworks, subdivisions, roads, bridges and general concrete construction. Expected salary is $90k - $115k + super + car + furnished accommodation + $400 per week disruption allowance. We are looking for a civil project engineer with experience in road construction projects in Australia.
