Technical Services Superintendent – open cut coal

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Mining Engineer or Technical Services Superintendent to join this successful 5.5mtpa open cut coal mining operation, one of the most technically complex sites in QLD.

You will be responsible for:

 Mine design and planning, production schedules and drill and blast scheduling and operations, enabling recovery of maximum coal resource in the most cost efficient manner
 Leading a team of 14 reports across drill and blast, mine design and planning/scheduling, survey and projects
 Instilling a longer term focus on mine planning and technical improvements
 Obviously a strong safety culture underpins all site activities.

We are looking for:

 Degree qualified Mining Engineer with experience at Superintendent or Senior Mining Engineer level – open cut coal or base metals
 Technical experience and skills in mine design, planning or scheduling
 Commitment to safety
 Strong focus on continuous improvement
 Excellent leadership skills and ability to manage a technical team
 Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
 A dynamic individual with a high level of initiative and proactivity
