A unique opportunity exists for mining professionals to lead the development of the Area C Operations. Area C is located approximately 130km northwest of Newman. The site is nearing completion of a major expansion with production increasing to 48Mtpa.

Position Synopsis

An excellent opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and highly motivated professional to join our Mining team at Area C as a Mine Geologist, ensuring our production and quality targets are met as production increases.

Working a 9 days on 5 days off roster from Perth, you will focus your efforts on supervising in-pit sampling and sample preparation; blast-hole logging and blast-blocking; production reporting and data management; routine mapping of production benches and pit wall exposures. In addition, your well-developed communication skills will be applied to liaising with mining contractor personnel, to ensure safe and efficient ore extraction.

This position is being offered on Fixed Term Contract of 6 months.

Skills & Experience

To be considered you will have a tertiary qualification in Geology. Candidates from graduate level to 5 years experience will be considered. Ideally, you will have broad experience in ore quality control, geological ore definition, pit mapping programmes and exhibit a proven team-spirited approach with effective communication skills and a solid safety and cost focus. Exposure to Maptek’s Vulcan software would be well regarded.

Location

This position is being offered as 9 days on, 5 days off, Fly In Fly Out role to Area C from Perth. Area C is a modern camp with a newly refurbished gym, mobile telephone coverage and a continual focus of creating a home away from home lifestyle. Flights are direct to site and are eligible for frequent flyer points.

The successful applicant will already being living in Western Australia.
