Reporting directly to the Safety Superintendent - Maintenance & Engineering, this position will be fundamental in ensuring the long-term success of safety which in turn ensures sustainability of our business.
Think Purpose
We seek a highly skilled safety specialist who will assist the implementation of occupational health and safety systems which facilitate the creation of a workplace free of injury and disease.
Your key accountabilities will also include:
• Assisting the Maintenance & Engineering leadership team in the implementation of OHS systems that facilitate the creation of a workplace free of injury and disease;
• Supporting the Maintenance & Engineering team by ensuring the timely development and delivery of safety advice and assistance;
• Liaise with and support contracting companies in the pursuit of zero harm objectives;
• Operating as an active contributor to the Maintenance & Engineering team, you will carry out workplace inspections and audits;
• Maintaining an effective incident reporting process and ensure that corrective actions are implemented;
• Providing safety and risk assessment training as required
Think Requirements
While postgraduate qualifications in Safety or a related field are preferred, experience within the mining and mineral processing industry is essential. You will also have a proven ability to prioritise and achieve desired results in complex situations, and a track record of accomplishment that testifies to your demonstrated commitment to “Zero Harm”. You will have a strong understanding of HSEC procedures, policies and management systems. Excellent oral and written skills are essential.
To be considered, you must be authorised to live and work in Australia.
