Payroll Clerk (Fixed Term Contract 12 Months)

Responsibilities of this position are the administration and maintenance of the fortnightly payroll. This will require working to strict deadlines whilst maintaining accurate employee records and administration of all forms of leave, data entry and payroll requirements. This role will be the central point of contact for all payroll related enquiries and shall liaise with BHP Billiton centralised payroll processing team.

The incumbent will need to communicate effectively across all levels of the workforce.

Other duties will include the:

* Entering and processing timesheets to enter into GSAP all applicable CWA allowance types, overtime worked and absence types in line with SSCA fortnightly payroll cycle deadlines.
* Liaising with SSCA, HR Team and Department Supervisors to ensure accurate roster pattern details, organisational structure and position assignment data is reflected in GSAP.
* Responding to enquiries, investigating and liaising with SSCA regarding leave accruals, entitlements or payroll amendments.
* Assisting Finance Team with work schedule rules, level increases and wage calculations for CWA employees.

Experience and Qualifications:

* Previous experience in payroll administration is essential. Demonstrated ability to interpret allowances and payments applicable under Certified Agreement, or other industrial instruments is essential.
* Good computer skills (Excel, Word) and database experience desirable
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy of numeric entry
* Organisational and time management skills are essential

The successful applicant would possess a high level of administration skills and demonstrate sound numerical and keyboard skills, they should also be able to exhibit good written and strong verbal communication skills.
