Lead Commissioning Engineer

REPORTS TO: Project Commissioning Manager

LOCATION: Santiago - Antofagasta, Chile

PURPOSE

The Lead Commissioning Engineer is required during the engineering phase of the project to review all project submittals from the EPCM that are of concern or related to the operation and maintenance of the New Desalination Plant (NDP), pipeline and forwarding pump stations, high voltage transmission line and substations and the mine site reservoir.

At the field the Lead Commissioning Engineer will supervise the commissioning engineer group, related to all pre-commissioning and commissioning activities of the EPCM.

ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Works directly with the Project Commissioning Manager maintaining cooperative, seamless relationship with EPCM project commissioning team.

• Reliable and accurate reporting of all field commissioning activities.

• Advise of any deviation or impact on progress or planned performance that could affect the overall project schedule.

• Maintains proactive approach to problem solving and recovery planning to achieve best practice in terms of delivering project on time to industry best quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES

• University Degree.

• 20+ years of experience in capital project commissioning.

• Ample experience in all facets of industrial processes, process control and commissioning.

• A strong commitment to Zero Harm; Proper Business Conduct; Health, Safety, Environment & Community as per BHP Billiton Charter and Corporate Guidelines.

• Command of: MS Office Suite.

• Bilingual Spanish - English.
