REPORTS TO: Services Manager Projects.
LOCATION: Santiago, with flexibility to travel.
PURPOSE
Support the Services Manager Projects in order to direct, oversee and implement: (i) economic evaluation, range and decision analysis, (ii) financial control and cash flow forecast and tracking of projects and studies and (iii) reporting requirements for Project Development Base Metals South America.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
• Actively and closely support project teams during Identification, Selection, Definition and Execution phases regarding project economical evaluations, decision analysis and range analysis.
• Closely interface with the project team, engineering contractors and asset specialists to ensure compliance of BHP Billiton standards for contingency calculation, CAPEX range analysis and escalation estimate and control.
• Facilitate range analysis workshops for CAPEX range analysis and relevant operational parameters; develop workshop materials, coordination and small portions of actual presentation delivery regarding BHP Billiton economical evaluation, decision analysis and range analysis concepts and standards.
• Closely support Project and Study teams to generate, update and track the Project / Study cashflows in line with the Project Development procedures and the Asset and Base Metals requirements.
• Supervise quality and timeliness of all Project Development reporting requirements, both internal and external to Project Development, Base Metals and BHP Billiton. This includes, Consolidated Report, One Page Report, Steering Committee presentations and Monthly Report. Specific presentations to BHP Billiton executives and presentations to external entities will be required from time to time.
• Support the Service Manager Projects and project teams in ad hoc analysis and evaluations.
• Support Contracts and Procurement Coordinators and Project Service Managers during financial evaluation of contractors and suppliers.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
• Technical degree with exposure to business analysis, preferably some formal qualification in the business area (e.g. MBA).
• 5 to 7 years experience in large capital intensive operations and/or projects with leadership in the business or management control areas.
• Exposure to multiple assets and sound technical knowledge of business concepts (DCF, decision analysis, commodity prices, macro-economics, transactions, financial forecasting and cashflow estimates).
• Proven HSEC and sound business conduct record.
• Bilingual English / Spanish with excellent communication and influencing skills.
