Melbourne Airport is undergoing a high volume of minor and major refurbishment and development projects and as a result they are presently seeking client side Project Managers.
Managing projects across the Automation, Building Services, Civil, Structural and Construction Environments the main purpose of the role will be to drive operational excellence for the Airport delivering on projects within predetermined financial and non-financial objectives.
The primary responsibilities of the role will be as follows; - Liaise with specialist Project Managers on specific projects ensuring each project is within the defined operational parameters. - Provide direction in order to fulfill contractual commitments and maximize profits. - Ensure that all affiliated personnel specific to each project are properly informed at all times throughout project completion. - Ensure that OH&S procedures are being followed at all times and monitor performance in this area from all parties involved in each project. - Report to senior Operations Managers at the airport and Senior Management within specific contractors. Other responsibilities include ensuring that all airport personnel and outside contractors are fully updated on a daily basis on project specifics and upcoming developments.
The ideal candidate will hold a degree within an engineering discipline coupled with exposure and experience in working closely and building relationships with external contractors, and internal systems teams. A background in engineering with exposure to Mechanical and / or Electrical projects would be very beneficial.
