POSITION SYNOPSIS
BHP Billiton Cannington has been experiencing extraordinary growth, and as a result we are currently assessing mine expansion options. We now have the opportunity for experienced Electrical & Mobile Maintenance Development Engineers / Professionals to join our dedicated group of project team professionals. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for providing maintenance development support for the selection of equipment for the Cannington Expansion Project.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
To be considered for this exciting role, you will ideally have a minimum of 5 years experience in the mining (or similar) industry covering maintenance, reliability or planning roles with surface fixed plant / surface mobile equipment. A Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree will be highly regarded, as will supervisory trade experience. Proficiency in AVSIM+ / LCC / RCMCost Software / SAP PM is also required.
As key requirements of the role, you will be experienced and able to:
• Participate in the selection of fit-for-purpose equipment to meet the project operational outcomes
• Review vendor recommendations of equipment selection, lifecycle costs and sparing strategies
• Undertake maintenance strategy development, in conjunction with operators, designers and vendors, to maximise availability and ensure reliability levels are achieved as per the business plan
• Conduct reliability and availability reviews and studies of selected equipment
• Conduct HAZOP and Risk Assessments for equipment selection recommendations
• Conduct benchmarking and studies of other (internal and external) sites to determine the optimal maintenance strategies and operating parameters for new equipment
• Conduct vendor manual reviews, ensuring compliance with BHP Billiton policies and the selected maintenance strategy for equipment
• Ensure all new operating instructions, maintenance plans and isolation procedures are written and loaded into the appropriate site IMS prior to plant start up
EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS
An attractive permanent employment remuneration package, commensurate with your qualifications and experience, will apply. This position is based in Townsville on a Monday to Friday roster with site visits required as part of your project responsibilities. Relocation packages to Townsville are available.
