Our Client is the market leader for shipping and Transport in PNG. The client requires a Service Manager to manage subordinates in the day to day performance of all activities related to the Service Departments within this diverse transport company.
Role Accountabilities:
Accountabilities of the role will include but not limited to the following:
* Through a “hands on” approach oversee the day to day running of the Service department for a fleet comprising of 80 plus Prime Movers/Trucks, 140 trailers.
* Train and develop key Service Department staff.
* Develop maintenance and planning schedules to deliver asset utilisation and business development objectives, whilst controlling costs and presenting the required corporate image.
* Provide input to the development of improved operational strategies.
* Establish quality control standards, develops budget and cost controls, and collate data to assist with job analysis and KPI objectives.
* Develop procedure, including personnel requirements, supplier requirements, facility needs, tooling and equipment.
* Review service department reports and directs the resolution of operational and maintenance problems to ensure minimum cost and prevent operational delays
* Perform administrative activities associated with the effective management of the service department, including compiling, storing, and retrieving data for reports.
* Train to ensures all employees are aware of and comply with company policies, procedures, and regulations
* Ensure that all employees, subcontractors, and visitors comply with company HSS&E standards and policies.
Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
* Trade qualified- Heavy Diesel Fitter/Motor Mechanic (or similar technical qualification – Engineering)
* Extensive Experience in heavy road transport equipment (min 3 years)
* Minimum 5 years management experience.
This is a residential role based in PNG. Accommodation will be provided by the company, along with an attractive remuneration package including travel and other benefits.
