Key strategic role in the drill & blast area for the company
Our client is an exciting iron ore producer with an exciting and dynamic project rapidly approaching mining.
As they approach the end of their feasibility studies etc they are building their team in readiness to kick start the mine as soon as possible in 2009.
They require an experienced and professional drill & blast engineer to join the team asap. Reporting to the mining superintendent, the main function of the position is to design and manage the drill & blast operations in sync with all the Mining OH&S legislations, plans and procedures of the company.
To succeed in obtaining this role you will need:
A degree in Mining Engineering.
A WA Quarry Manager Certificate of Competence.
Over 5 years of mine production experience and some in open cut.
Knowledge of WA Mining and OH&S regulations.
Commercial Analytical skills as well as proven ability with project production and budgeting skills.
Knowledge of environmental legislation and DoIR requirements will be extremely advantageous in obtaining this position.
This role begins in the Perth office and transitions into a 9 & 5 FIFO arrangement closer to the time mining commences.
