Teck Coal is the world's second largest exporter of metallurgical coal, supplying high-quality coal products to the international steel industry. Reporting to the Maintenance Engineer, electricians are responsible for the maintenance of systems and components that are integral to the operation's mining activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, construction, alteration, repair and testing of all electric or electronic systems and components.
The successful candidate will possess a valid inter-provincial electrical trade qualification and have a strong background and understanding of distributed control systems (DCS), programmable logic controls (PLC) and microprocessors. Preference will be given to Journeyman Industrial Electricians. Familiarity with reading electrical schematics and prints is necessary. Two to three years of experience, preferably in mining or a similar environment is also required.
An aggressive self-starter with a solid technical background, proven troubleshooting skills, and excellent interpersonal skills would be an asset.
