HS Coordinator – Castonguay HSE & Regulatory Sudbury, Ontario, Canada
General Function Responsible for the coordination & continuous improvement of Dyno Nobel’s HSE (Health, Safety & Environment) management system, activities & related services throughout Castonguay’s operations in Ontario. Primary role is in auditing, implementing systems and programs, incident investigation, coaching & assisting with program development & compliance performance,.
JOB SCOPE
• Ensure compliance with applicable DN HS Performance Standards, as well as applicable acts & regulations.
• Conduct equipment operator audits & competency evaluations.
• Develop written reports & standard operating procedures.
• Provide leadership & drive for safety committees.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
• Bachelor Degree. Preferably in Safety, Loss Control or related field. Related work experience may be substituted for some or all of required education.
• Training &/ or experience in HS philosophies, programs & practices
Experience / Skills
• 5-10 years experience in implementing HS programs preferably in an engineering or technical field related to / associated with mining or explosives industries.
• Effective communicator, trainer & group process leader
• Training in HSE, Loss Control, Regulatory Requirements.
• Auditing skills
• Skilled at incident investigation techniques & report writing
• Risk assessment skills
• Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office & Lotus Notes.
Additional Core Competencies
• Ability to prioritize & handle multiple task/projects simultaneously
• Able to establish & administer structured programs, evaluations & reports in support of Company Operations
• Bilingual (English & French)
• Acceptable driving record & security clearance
