Position can be based in Perth or locally resident in Northern Territory. If Perth based then there will be a need to travel to Tennant Creek to validate data against hard copy information occasionally. Responsibilities include data entry and validation of historical geological data, management of the Datashed geological database, preparation of geological maps, section and presentation material for inclusion in various reports. Applications are invited from candidates with previous experience in managing geological databases (Datashed, Oracle, MS Access, SQL preferred) and hopefully holding a qualification in Cartography, GIS or related discipline and experience using GIS and CAD drafting (Mapinfo, ArcGIS, Micromine, Microstation, CorelDraw or equivalents). Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills to be able to interact effectively with company and contract geologists and other disciplines. Those applicants with a previous history of managing geological data and meeting deadlines for data compilation and presentation and have Powerpoint experience will be preferred. The opportunity is a permanent staff one but there may be the possibility of commencing on a contractual basis initially if preferred. The position is to be filled as soon as possible.
