The successful candidate for this position will possess no less than an undergraduate degree in geology or geological engineering from a recognized university coupled with no less than ten years of relevant industry experience. This position will be responsible for developing geological interpretations, developing geological models, constructing block models for mineral resource estimates and mineral reserve evaluations and the preparation of NI 43-101 Technical Reports (and equivalent international reports) for exploration and mining projects. The successful candidate will have to work closely and cooperatively with clients and colleagues, including both technical peers and management at all levels.
Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle Associates, part of Scott Wilson Mining, continues to grow its worldwide mining practice and as a result requires that the following vacancies be filled immediately in its Toronto, Canada office. The ideal candidates will possess the appropriate academic qualifications coupled with varying levels of relevant industry experience. Prior experience consulting and working with clients at all levels would be an asset, but is not essential.
The successful candidate will qualify for professional registration in the Province of Ontario and satisfy the requirements of a Qualified or Competent Person under Canadian and U.K. Securities Regulations. While previous consulting experience would be beneficial but not essential, the ability to work cooperatively and professionally with technical peers and client representatives at all levels is imperative. Travel for extended periods is not the norm but may be required on occasion. Short-term travel, often on short notice, will likely be a frequent occurrence. Advanced degrees beyond the undergraduate level may be an advantage. Given the global reach of Scott Wilson Roscoe Postle’s consulting practice, fluency in additional languages would certainly be an asset.
