BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is the world’s largest seaborne coking coal supplier. BMA operates nine mine sites and a coal loading port in Central Queensland.

Blackwater Mine is one of the world's largest open cut coal operations, producing 14 mtpa of metallurgical and thermal coal. The town has over 5,000 residents, excellent amenities and is a comfortable drive from Emerald, Rockhampton and the Capricorn Coast. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Contracts Supervisor to join the team at Blackwater Mine. As the successful candidate you will supervise and co-ordinate contracts and contractors involved in a variety of civil and mining projects.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

* Co-ordinate, supervise and monitor contractors activities;
* Supervise and ensure contractor performance and deliverables are achieved;
* Develop and control the systems for ensuring that the contractors meet their legislative and mine site requirements in terms of health, safety and the environment;
* Ensure on a daily basis that contractors adhere to all safe work practices and undertake risk assessments where required;
* Monitor and manage costs to ensure that contracts are completed within budget;
* Prepare contract documentation, scope of works, technical specifications and manage the tender process;

The successful applicant will ideally have:

* A demonstrated commitment to safety;
* Previous experience with the direct supervision of contractors and contract administration preferable gained from a environmental/civil role;
* Previous experience in a supervisory role in the mining industry with S1, S2, and S3 required;
* A background in operations with relevant field experience;
* Effective planning and coordination skills;
