Specialist Manage Shutdowns

We are expanding every facet of our Iron Ore business as we develop new ways to deliver competitive advantages to our customers. Our most recent growth project, Rapid Growth Project 5, will take installed capacity at our Western Australian Iron Ore operations to 205mpta by the second half of calendar year 2011.

Position Synopsis

We are looking for a specialist who will primarily act as an expert for WAIO on the subject on shutdown management, implementing and governing policies, procedures, standards and systems. In addition the role will also involve providing technical support and expertise to operations on Shutdown Management.

Key responsibilities include:

* Develop, improve and govern Shutdown Management policies, procedures, practices and metrics;
* Assist with the develop of shutdown management tools and training;
* Perform audits on the shutdown management process on site;
* Ensure that shutdown best practices are consistently applied across the WAIO supply chain;
* Ensure that shutdown processes and practices are set up effeciently; and
* Collaborate with other Asset Reliability functional streams and ensure integration.

Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have extensive shutdown execution and direct maintenance related experience, ideally complimented with a relevant tertiary qualification. A strong understanding of systems knowledge of maintenance processes such as work management, cost control, budgeting processes and maintenance strategies will also be imperative.

Equally as important are first class project management skills along with extensive experience with SAP PM module. As well as strong interpersonal skills to be able to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
