Working as the EKATI Business Operating System Project Leader, you will lead, coach and facilitate site teams in generating process maps and clarity around business critical systems. The goal of this role is to implement, influence, engage and sustain fundamental business systems supporting our value of ZERO HARM at the lowest operating cost.
You will be responsible for the establishment and ongoing improvement of our operating systems (critical systems applied to manage risk in our business - safety & business) for EKATI and our parent and sister groups in Canada.
You will be required to design a project plan for the implementation and sustainability of the EKATI Business Operating System. This will also include the selection of required resources supporting results on the project time line. Project teams will be required to formulate system definitions and improvement processes following the Lean Six Sigma methodology through operational and subject matter expert teams. One key deliverable will be a Value Stream Map for the EKATI Value Chain.
The Project Leader with the project teams will be responsible for the delivery of key milestones as per project plan. Monthly progress will be required to be measured and reported to the EKATI Management and regional management team in Vancouver.
To be a successful candidate, you must be creative, energetic, personable, ambitious, enjoy problem solving and driving for results. A demonstrated track record on satisfactorily performance, follow through, ethical decision making and personal leadership are critical. Relevant process improvement qualification that will be an advantage for applicants are: Degree qualifications in Business Improvement and Auditing, Process Improvement or Engineering, ISO accredited auditing and formal Lean Six Sigma qualification - Green Belt/Black Belt or Kaizen Leader. It is preferred that the successful candidate has 5-10 years experience in the Process Management and Auditing. Candidates have to be proficient in Microsoft applications.
The EKATI Diamond Mine is located 300 kilometres northeast of Yellowknife and is accessible only by plane. The role is site based at EKATI and the preferred rotation for this position is 4 days on site, followed by 3 days off.
