Mt Arthur Coal Expansion - Maintenance Planner

Situated near Muswellbrook in the picturesque Upper Hunter Valley, the Mt Arthur Coal mine is an open cut thermal coal operation that is currently expanding to produce 20 million tonnes annually.

POSITION SYNOPSIS

Operating in a climate of continuous improvement you will exercise your initiative and take decisive action to ensure equipment capability is maintained in a safe, effective and timely manner to minimise downtime and maximise production

Responsibilities

* Involved in the standardisation of planning and scheduling processes across the Maintenance Department;
* Coordinate the refurbishment/replacement of plant equipment as required;
* Establishing and developing an insurance parts holding for the equipment;
* Monitoring of maintenance costs, whilst providing information on variations from the budget on a monthly basis;
* Assisting with the coordination of the maintenance effort with operations by effectively communication with staff;
* Overseeing the development plans for maintenance crews, including the scheduling and planning of major shutdowns;
* Involvement in the department reliability improvement program;
* Plan, schedule and pre-prepare for maintenance work in the short and medium term to ensure effective and efficient allocation of labour, parts and equipment resources;
* Regularly communicate with maintenance, supply and operations personnel on issues related to planning and scheduling work and materials supply;
* Assist in the continual development and implementation of maintenance management practices and information system usage ensuring effective use of resources;
* Review equipment maintenance histories and costing so that equipment maintenance strategies may be developed and continually improved; and
* Provide effective planning and coordination of shutdowns.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

You will be able to clearly demonstrate experience in planning, scheduling and resource management practices and information systems. Substantial post trade experience within the heavy industry sector and maintenance planning experience within an earth moving equipment role (Shovels/Excavators/Drills), SAP experience would be highly desirable.
