Senior Mining Engineer

BHP Billiton Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) is the world’s largest seaborne coking coal supplier. BMA operates nine mine sites and a coal loading port in Central Queensland.

Gregory Crinum Mine is an open cut and underground coal operation, our employees live in Emerald, a modern town of approximately 11,000 people. Emerald offers a great balance of social, recreational, community and sporting activities, as well as an excellent range of services and facilities.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled professional with a proven Mine Engineering background to provide an integrated planning approach for our underground and opencut operations. The role will suit a person looking to further develop their skills and knowledge on a challenging mine site.

The primary function of this role is to prepare and maintain plans necessary for short and medium term planning strategies for the Gregory Crinum Mine. In the role plans produced will be expected to deliver on safety and value to the business. The role will also require the successful candidate to liaise closely with long term planning Engineers.

The successful candidate will have:

* Meaningful experience in mine and process scheduling. Additional experience in dragline and/or truck-shovel stripping is highly desirable.
* A degree in mining or civil engineering or other mining related discipline.
* Experience with XPAC and Vulcan or similar software packages.
* A demonstrated ability to communicate with operations, maintenance, and environmental personnel for field implementation of plans.
* Experience with process mapping and statistics.
* Prior experience with reserving and exposure to geotechnical considerations in planning would be desirable.
