Position Synopsis
The work in our Finance area touches almost every part of the company. We develop and implement the strategies, and financial measurement and reporting systems required to satisfy our customers, as well as optimise our financial returns, and ensure the financial integrity of our operations. Our Finance people provide insight and analysis to help all parts of the business operate more effectively.
An opportunity has now arisen for a motivated professional with excellent analytical and management accounting skills to fill the position of Financial Analyst within the Business Reporting and Performance team. The Financial Analyst role is responsible for assisting the Functional Group Team with the completion of the month-end process to ensure the financial integrity of the data submissions, the facilitation and preparation of the budget, the forecasting process and ad hoc financial queries.
Your excellent problem solving and analytical abilities may be applied in analysing costs, in identifying cost trends and opportunities to improve cost awareness. Your demonstrated organisational, interpersonal and outstanding communication skills will enable you to effectively co-ordinate internal stakeholders to ensure our various management reporting requirements and deadlines are achieved.
Skills and Experience
To be considered, you will be degree qualified in Commerce, or similar discipline, and demonstrate progress towards CA or CPA certification. You will have strong financial and management accounting experience, ideally gained within the mining sector with significant emphasis on month-end reporting, forecasting and budgeting. Your track record testifies to your sound knowledge of accounting and reporting processes, and solid understanding of accounting standards. Proficiency with excel is essential.
