Position Synopsis
Our Train Control Centre is also going through an exciting period of growth and development. Challenging opportunities exist for motivated Train Controllers to assume responsibility for ‘on track’ movements across the entire BHP Billiton Iron Ore rail system. You will safely and efficiently operate the Siemens designed CTC, non-CTC and Yard control panels, thereby ensuring that railing plans and train schedules are met. With a strong focus on safety combined with maximising production and minimising train losses, you will have the opportunity to use your initiative in reengineering processes to ensure best practice.
Specifically, your accountabilities will include:
* Monitoring and controlling the shunting yard movements and the mainline movements, including all rail maintenance work;
* Ensuring that all activities are carried out strictly in accordance with defined work instructions, procedures and regulations; and
* Facilitating maintenance activities, including liaising with rail crews and rolling stock maintenance personnel, to optimise railing efficiencies.

Skills and Experience
To be competitive, you must have current or recent experience as a train controller, you must be competent in the operation of CTC &/or train order systems, and be computer literate. Train driving experience or other rail operational experience will be well regarded.
Location
This role is based in Port Hedland and is offered on a Fly In Fly out basis from Perth on a family friendly roster. A competitive remuneration package is offered commensurate with experience, and includes performance incentive and a generous superannuation scheme, as well as other benefits.
