Project Cost Engineer

Barrick Africa is currently searching for two Cost Engineers of our mining operations in Tanzania.

The incumbent must also be able and willing to travel to Tanzania.

Some of the responsibilities will include:

• Factored to deterministic Cost Estimating;
• Full cost control function - Owner of the process through which Capital expenditure is managed, controlled, forecasted and reported within the Project;
• Project Economics;
• Increasing Profitability;
• Financial Risk Management;
• Project Planning;
• Assist with the creation/development of Capital votes;
• Assist with the Capital budgeting and forecasting process;
• Confirm project close out and custody hand over at the end of the project;
• Good Corporate Governance;
• Review and revise cost control and project accounting procedures on an ongoing basis;
• Ad hoc exercises/projects;

Minimum Requirements:

• A cost engineering qualification or equivalent;
• Experience in a similar role within the mining industry.
• Ability to interface with a broad range of professional staff, both internally and externally.
• Ability to prioritize competing work tasks and not be distracted from achieving deadlines.
• Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office packages, especially Excel, Word and Power Point.
