Barrick operates the wholly owned Lawlers Gold Mine located in the North Eastern Goldfields of Western Australia, approximately 35kms west of Leinster. The Lawlers Gold Mine produces 120,000 oz of gold from 840,000 tonnes of ore each year.

Position Overview: Lawlers is currently seeking experienced, proactive and self-motivated Senior Underground Production Engineer to join the UG Mining team. This position will utilize all of your skills as an engineer and leader. The appointee will report to the UG Manager and in addition to their duties will be responsible for the promotion of, and participation in the company environmental, health, safety and operational policies/procedures. The appointee will be responsible for the following duties and activities:

• Optimising production efficiencies through improved stope design and sequencing.
• Short and medium term mine scheduling.
• Promoting site safety policies and procedures.
• Production reporting.
• Supervising production engineering team.
• Underground project works and studies as required.
• Active involvement in continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements:
• Recognised tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or the equivalent.
• WA First Class Mine Managers Ticket an advantage or the necessary experience and desire to obtain it.
• Computer literacy of mine planning packages (Surpac) and MS Office
• Proven track record in various stope mining methods.
• Possess good communication skills as well as a high level of personal motivation and commitment.
• Ability to be a courageous leader and show high quality safety practices.

Lawlers Gold Mine operation is fly in/fly out from Perth on an 8 days on/6 days off roster. On-site accommodation, including all messing facilities, is provided. Recreational activities include internet café, Foxtel television, swimming pool, tennis and squash courts, gymnasium and golf driving net.
