Maintenance Planner - Open Pit Mining Mobile Equipment (12 Month Contract)

Our client is a leading gold mining company and ranks among the top gold producers globally. They are the owner/operator of one of the world's premier gold mines, located in Papua New Guinea and currently have a requirement for a Maintenance Planner – Open Pit Mining Mobile Equipment (12 month contract).

The role reports to the Coordinator Maintenance Planning and will provide maintenance planning leadership in support of optimising the availability and reliability of open pit mining plant/equipment. The primary focus of the position will be implementing work management processes as well as providing coaching/mentoring for the development of planning team members.

Key elements of the role include:

* Training and development of national maintenance planning personnel
* Providing continuous improvement in the maintenance planning function
* Preparation of routine and shutdown maintenance plans to ensure maintenance tasks are undertaken in a timely manner
* Optimisation of the application of the MIMS Ellipse computerised preventative maintenance program
* Management of planned maintenance team targets and key performance indicators

The successful candidate would ideally have:

* Trade qualifications in a maintenance engineering field &/or tertiary education in maintenance management
* At least 4 years experience in a maintenance planning role in a open pit mining mobile equipment environment is essential
* Experience with MIMS Ellipse or similar is required along with competence in the Microsoft Office software.
* Prior overseas experience will be advantageous.

This role requires a team player that displays strong communication and interpersonal skills to be able to interact effectively with a multi-skilled workforce. Excellent organisation, planning and time-management skills will also be required.

This role will be offered on a 15 days on 13 days off FIFO roster from point of hire.

Other conditions of employment including remuneration will be discussed at interview stage.
