Due to expansion, our client is currently seeking a Senior Mining Engineer at their underground coal operation in Central QLD. This is a major mining organisation and the successful Senior Mining Engineer will be remunerated competitively, have long term job stability and become part of a dedicated team of industry professionals who are no fuss, professional and committed to the attaining the best team outcome.
As the Senior Mining Engineer you will be a key member of the senior management team and provide effective direction and technical advice to operations planning and scheduling and mine operations in all aspects of production and development planning and scheduling to achieve targets.
Major responsibilities include:
• Managing the engineering team in such a way as to ensure alignment with business direction and safety compliance.
• Providing advice to mine operations on scheduling and planning aspects of the mining operation (future production strategy/bottlenecks).
• Introducing systems that measure performance and enable operational teams to achieve their targets.
• Developing and reviewing the engineering team budget.
• Identifying and recommending improvements to the planning and scheduling process in order to optimise short and long term operational performance.
The successful Senior Mining Engineer will have demonstrated experience in:
• Mine Planning, Underground Coal and Managing a Team.
• Application and maintenance of legislative and regulatory standards.
• Developing processes to remove barriers between teams and promote collaborative work within output teams, between output teams.
• Working across output teams and interface effectively with your customers as well as ability to work in a flexible manner.
Applicants require tertiary qualifications in either Mining or Civil Engineering along with a working knowledge of MS Office, XPAC, MS Projects, AutoCAD and SAP.
