Pacific Aluminium (Pac Al) is a newly created member of the Rio Tinto group of companies and is a medium sized, geographically dispersed organisation operating in Australia and New Zealand and competing in world commodity markets for bauxite, alumina and primary aluminium. Pacific Aluminium's strategy is based on continually improving its cost competitiveness, ensuring the safe and environmentally sound management of its operations and the realisation of the full potential of its people, technology and physical assets. The Pac Al Information Systems & Technology (IS&T) department is responsible for the definition and implementation of unifying IS&T strategies, policies, standards and programmes. Co-ordinating the project budget and work program and the design, implementation, operation and optimisation of IS&T infrastructure, systems and communications across the business. With a focus on continuous improvement, IS&T aims to achieve optimum business focussed results that meet or exceed the expectations of the Pac Al business. Based in Brisbane, as the Manager - Projects and Strategy you will be responsible for managing the IS&T divestment activities from Rio Tinto and assisting in the creation of the new Pac Al infrastructure through project management and implementing strategy. You will also drive the strategic direction of Pac Al IS&T, liaising with corporate and operational site leaders to define strategic and tactical roadmaps to suit their objectives. You will manage multi-faceted projects as well as providing direction to project managers, internal stakeholders and third parties. You will actively manage budgets with a focus on efficiency, continuous improvement and innovation to provide your customers with the best solutions.   As the successful applicant, you will possess a tertiary qualification in a related field with demonstrated experience in IS&T project management and project portfolio management. Your ability to balance competing priorities whilst justifying and delivering superior solutions will be paramount to your success. Your superior influencing and relationship management abilities will allow you to engage with internal and external stakeholders of all levels to achieve your objectives. Your high level of commercial acumen and ability to see the bigger picture will be heavily utilised.
