Summary:

The Business Analyst Contractor role is to work with business owners and IT to design business systems, incorporate new technologies and systems to improve company workflow, production, efficiency and effectiveness. The BA is also expected to maintain a level of current knowledge of computer technology.

Responsibilities:

• Collect and analyze business owner(s) requirements to define high level need as a request is entered into pipeline.
• Support efforts of Business Liaison(s) to define requirements.
• Develop process flow documents to capture current and future state and perform GAP analysis when needed.
• Document requirement findings and transfer knowledge to development team.
• Work with project manager to identify and document project purpose, objectives and success criteria.
• Participate in product demonstrations and RFP selections.
• Grasp business issues and data challenges of systems and organization.
• Works with business owners and business liaison to identify strengths and weaknesses on projects, along with, suggested areas for improvement.
• Develop functional specifications and system design specifications.
• Assists in testing efforts to ensure issues are identified and solution traces back to requirements.
• Interact with client, Enterprise, and project systems analysts during all phases of system development.
• Will also have some project management and quality assurance/ testing responsibilities.

Experience

• College diploma or university degree in information systems, computer science or business administration or relevant experience.
• 8 + years of business analyst experience.
• Prior experience documenting complex business processes.
• Experience with T&E systems desirable.
• Must have experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel and Word
