- Pipe Support Engineer has responsibility for Design of Piping, Raceway, & HVAC Duct (Commodity) Supports. A commodity support is a seismic load carrying structure that transfers loads from the Piping, Electrical Raceway or HVAC Duct to the building structure. Components to be qualified include Attachments (means of restraining the commodity), structural frame members and Base Plates or Embed Plates using computerized structural analysis programs including STAAD. Responsiblities include coordination of efforts with other seismic support engineers performing similar work and design coordination with other design disciplines by review of the model representation of the designs in Plant Design System (PDS) and development of qualified support designs prepared by Support Modeler.

All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a higher level position.
- Minimum 3+ years direct experience in design and analysis of commodity supports or similar steel design work.
- Bachelor of Science in Structural or Mechanical Engineering.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of ANSI/AISC N690 Design Fab & Erection Safety Related Steel Structures or AISC Structural Steel Specification.
- Demonstrated experience with STAAD III Structural Analysis and Design or GT STRUDL required.
The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position.
- Experience with ANSYS and GTSTRUDL desirable, STAAD III very desirable.
