Electrical Engineer — Ingot Furnace

Job description:

The Ingot Plant Furnace Electrical Engineer is responsible for the 24/7 support of the Ingot furnaces. The engineer will be accountable for the Combustion Protocols for the department and plant representative for all combustion safety initiatives. The Furnace EE is the day-to-day leader for the maintenance of the gas trains associated with the furnaces and is the technical leader for the Maintenance combustion crew. This position will accountable for the electrical portion of all furnace rebuilds in Ingot including the annual repairs and all major capital expenditures. The engineer will also be responsible for ensuring that all corporate Best Practices for furnaces are met throughout the department.

Key activities:

  • Provide engineering expertise for these systems: Furnace Combustion Systems, Furnace sequencing and control, Ingot gas supply measuring and delivery system, Energy reduction annually, and power distribution
  • Safety protocol SPA for the Corporate Combustion Protocols
  • Ingot SPA for power distribution
  • Daily support of utility systems such as the Hot Top gas system, Roto Clone fine recovery system
  • Capital project research and management.
  • Major outage coordination.

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 3 years of electrical engineering experience
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, have excellent team and people skills in order to drive change, be able to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting

  • Experience in gas combustion systems; JG 16-18, depending upon experience
