Rio Tinto Alcan's Weipa mine is located on the western coastline of Cape York Peninsula.  Our operations are on Aboriginal land and consist of two mines that deliver beneficiated bauxite via railway and conveyor systems to the Weipa port for shipping.  At Weipa, our employees have a strong commitment to safety, embrace change and diversity and share a willingness to contribute to a world-class mining operation. The Planner HEQ Maintenance is charged with managing a maintenance environment from a long-term view that operates at a high level of planned maintenance without compromising asset values, so that the fleets safely produce agreed outputs to support the mine operations. The key responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining the whole of life maintenance strategy for the mobile fleets from a 27 month plan and ensure the major maintenance is in accordance with HME contracts.
• Liaise with key stakeholders to ensure there is effective communication of the equipment plans and upcoming major maintenance to ensure appropriate plans are in place to minimise negative impacts to the business.
• Audit the SAP master data to ensure accuracy from a central point perspective.
• Create & communicate the plans 12 weeks ahead to ensure complete understanding & alignment between sites. Analysing information to anticipate problems.
• Implementing plans and developing strategies to enable the site Planners to meet their customer's requirements.
• Looking for new ways to support the evolution of "best practice" maintenance planning.
• Administer the transfer of mobile equipment between sites within SAP.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate considerable post trade experience in a planning or scheduling role and will have knowledge of heavy and mobile equipment. Exposure to leadership duties within a maintenance field and or mining sector experience would be highly advantageous to your application.  In return, the successful applicant can expect to receive a dynamic and rewarding career within a global organisation.
