Description:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Surface Landman located in our Calgary Office.
The role requires comprehensive knowledge of surface land acquisitions, computer systems, procedures, regulations and various surface agreements. The successful candidate will work closely with Assets Teams, Coordinators, as well as survey and land consulting firms, and land contracts personnel. This position requires skills in project coordination, and ideally the candidate must be able to mentor more junior personnel.
Duties:
Communicate internally as required with operations, accounting, legal, drilling, facilities, environment, etc.
Work closely with the Community relations liaisons to ensure that First Nations communities are properly consulted.
Communicate with outside agencies as required such as service companies, regulators, SRD and ERCB.
Flexibility to work more than one area will be required. To aid and support the team lead in new or more active areas.
Responsible for new acquisitions of well sites, pipelines, facilities etc. in assigned areas.
Liaise with Asset Teams on regular basis to coordinate, monitor and report on acquisition requirements.
Field work will be a smaller component in the role composing about 25% of the time.
Work with administration/coordinators to ensure integrity of surface lease records and financial information for assigned area.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will posses:
Post secondary diploma or degree preferred but not required.
Minimum 5 years experience as a surface landman.
Experience in working with surface and regulations in United States is a benefit.
Must hold an Alberta Land Agents License and valid driver's license.
Should have experience with sour gas operations.
First Nations experience is a benefit.
Needs to have a valid passport.
Able to complete public consultation and coordinating open houses.
