CONTAINER OPERATIONS ASSISTANT

I Job Purpose:
To control the containers fleet - owned and leased - worldwide & prepare and control operational write-off of the containers under LOST/SOLD status in order to meet and support the business objectives of the Department (revenue moves) in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

III Key Accountabilities:
• Control and load empties from MER hub ports on COMPANY vessels (MIX service)
• Prepare and process the containers under LOST & SOLD status for write-off authorization
• Control the leased containers, under one -way deals
• Prepare weekly management reports, such as global inventory report
• Contribute to the development of containers inventory control and usage forecasting systems and liaise with IT and procurement to ensure they can be implemented
• Analyze the operations of shippers ( e.g. WHITE LINE), ensuring they are in line with COMPANY policies and procedures.
• Monitor containers under long dwells worldwide
• Use
• Advise depreciation, replacement value amounts to the trades world-widely, so as to facilitate the containers sales process.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with various leasing companies, negotiate sub-leasing terms so as to optimize containers allocation and minimize costs of empty containers moves...
• Coordinate with vessel planners, CMD leasing and Ops teams, Technical team as well as regional controllers, in order to maximize containers bookings and ensure timely and cost-effective operations...
• Follow all relevant regulations, operational procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner

• Internal relationships: Regional Office MER, Accounts & CMD
• External relationships: Trade Offices & MER Agents
• In doors environmental controlled office

V Qualifications and Skills:
• Graduate – Four year Degree
• Basic Knowledge of Marine Engineering.
• Good Understanding of Data Processing Terminology
• Knowledge of standard procedures, requirements and laws governing import/export, freight forwarding & warehouse operations are a plus
• Dynamic & Detail oriented.
• Dynamic & Detail oriented.
• Numeric & communicator
• Excellent organizational skills
• Good Team Player
• Computer & Internet literacy
• Fluency in written and spoken English is a must.

Experience:
• A minimum of 2-4 years of commercial shipping experience.
