Our client is an integrated energy company headquartered in Houston, primarily focused on the exploration for and production of natural gas. Originally organized in 1929 as a local natural gas distribution company, today they are involved in natural gas distribution, midstream services and natural gas and crude exploration and production.
Responsibilities
-Make assignments to Field Brokers, supervising and reviewing Brokers’ work.
-Handle day-to-day issues of the Unconventional Resources Land Field activities.
-Handle day-to-day issues of trade and JV activities as needed
-Coordinate and integrate various Land items related to permitting drill locations in multiple domestic plays.
-Acquires, maintains, and prepares properties for drilling, recompletions, reworks and P&A.
-Coordinates activities connected with property through the life of the property.
-Fields inquires for mineral owners and working interest partners.
-Heavy contact position (both internal and external) on legal issues, regulatory matters, exploration and production issues, gas marketing and lease record/division order arrangements.
-Interacts with other disciplines in a team environment to accomplish company goals.
-Assist in property sales and acquisitions as requested
-Prepares and negotiates appropriate contracts and agreements to facilitate operations.
-Represents the company’s interest at industry and partner meetings
-Coordinates through the State Regulatory agency all exploration and production issues to facilitate company production goals
-Prefer previous ROW & Surface Use Agreement experience.
-Run title from sovereignty to present, obtain attorney title opinions and curing all requirements set out in opinions for all non-drill site tracts.
-Check title from date of last leases to present, negotiate with mineral owners to obtain extensions/renewals of expiring leases, review LPR packages, approve drafts for payment of bonus.
-Make assignments to and supervise technicians to assist in completion of all work according to appropriate technical guidelines.
-Be an active Team player.
-Assume responsibility for any and all special projects, as assigned.
Qualifications
-Legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
-Must have strong communication skills and actively participate in a team environment.
-Must work well with others in high stress situations.
-Dependable worker for high volume office
-5-15 years experience as Petroleum Landman with either or a Major and/or Independent Oil & Gas Company.
-BS/BA or advanced degree in Petroleum Land Management, Business Administration, Law or related discipline.
-Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills are imperative, with the ability to make presentations to management.
