Shell People Services Asia Sdn Bhd (364800-W) is an organisation that delivers HR shared transaction services to Shell's business worldwide. The primary goal of the Shell People Services organisation is to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of HR systems (including HR-IT) and processes. HR-IT supplies a unique combination of HR experience and IT expertise in providing support for the various HR applications available for use by Shell businesses.

This position is available within the Shell Internal Audit team for Finance in the East. The Finance team is dedicated to support executive management and the Group Audit Committee (GAC) to provide assurance on the effectiveness of the Company’s general financial control infrastructure including the internal control over financial reporting as required by the Sarbanes Oxley Act Section (SOX 404). In the context of increasing external regulation and supervisor scrutiny, the financial auditors work closely with senior and line management to develop and execute audit/testing plans, meeting external and internal control framework requirements. Although the finance teams are based in regional offices, auditors frequently do work around the Globe.

The position reports directly to the Regional Audit Manager – Finance East and is responsible for leading a majority of the audits the incumbent will be participating in. This will include coordination of scope, planning and scheduling of the audit activities, next to being responsible for discussing audit results and finalizing the audit report. The experience will be an excellent opportunity to learn Shell’s operations, creating a Shell people network and developing softer skills such as leadership, negotiation and presentation. The Internal Audit department is part of the corporate function and reports directly to the CFO. External expectations relating to the effectiveness and transparency of governance are continuously evolving over the last years.

A professional, independent internal audit function is a key element of good corporate governance. Shell Internal Audit (SIA) provides this independent, objective assurance advice, which contributes to a company-culture of openness and transparency. SIA is designed to improve the organisation’s operations by helping the group to achieve their objectives using a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.

Financial Auditor
(Kuala Lumpur)

Responsibilities:
* Effective execution of the financial audit programs in line with internal methodology;
* Providing a sound analysis, identifying control weaknesses and fit-for-purpose recommendations to management;
* Agree remediation plans to address identified control weaknesses;
* Reporting results of audits to internal audit and business line management.

Requirements:
* Qualified or nearly qualified accountant. RA, RC, ACA, CPA, CIA or equivalent;
* Accounting and auditing competencies built on 3 to 8 years experience in Finance (audit, controls, assurance, accounting) within major global business or one of the major Accounting firms;
* Excellent communication and coordination skills;
* The incumbent must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to communicate and influence effectively throughout the businesses, at all levels in the organisation and with staff from diverse cultural backgrounds;
* Personal integrity and professionalism are key to maintain an independent attitude and delivering quality audits;
* Strong analytical/financial skills, and the ability to identify cause-effect relationships, patterns, implications of data, and be able to integrate pieces into a meaningful whole;
* Fluency in spoken and written English is essential for this position;
* Authorisation to work in Malaysia is required for this position.
