Currently, we are offering you exciting career opportunities in MI Drilling (Singapore) Pte Ltd for the following position.
Finance Controller
(Singapore)
Responsibilities:
This position will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of the Finance and Administration function in accordance with Company objectives. These activities include prime responsibility within the following functional areas: Accounting, Audit, Taxation, Legal, Company Secretarial, Patent, Insurance, Information Systems, and Inventory; Reporting to the parent company in accordance with U.S. G.A.A.P. within the time frame advised and defined by the parent; communicating financial and other information in response to internal and external requests, with recommendations for action as appropriate; maintaining adequate and effective physical and procedural control over Company assets and ensuring that financial aspects of company policies are observed and that Company actions are fully in accordance with established authorities; leading the preparation of annual and periodic business plans as a basis for operations, tax and treasury planning; ensuring compliance by the Company with national laws and with the directives of country regulatory bodies; making recommendations regarding policy, procedure, improved quality of service and cost reduction in any of the functional areas of responsibility.
Requirements:
Academic Qualifications:
* Recognized higher level accounting qualification.
* Minimum five to ten years experience with a minimum of two years experience in a senior financial management position with exposure to companies of U.S. ownership and an adequate understanding of U.S. GAAP.
Skills, knowledge and Attributes:
* Effective oral and written communication skills; local and English. English is essential.
* Ability to analyze and evaluate financial information as a basis for interpretation and communication.
* Thorough knowledge of the business functions of Finance, Accounting and Management Information is a mandatory pre-requisite. Must have the ability to become well informed in the other functional areas of this position.
* Knowledge in ERP ORACLE will be an added advantage.
* Excellent planning and organizational abilities.
* Effective employee management skills.
* Broadly-based business skills are desirable so that technical ability in this function can always be placed in a practical commercial context.
* Willingness to work through on-the-job training to obtain a satisfactory working knowledge of the Company’s products and services and procedures and policies.
