Steam Turbine Field Supervisor

This position is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing field repair work of the Power Service Shops to meet or exceed current and future customer expectations. Effectively and efficiently coordinates component repair and rebuild activities while attaining safety, quality, and financial objectives that support power plant performance.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Directs the field maintenance and repair work to ensure all projects are completed in accordance with specifications, schedule and budget.
- Continuously focuses on the satisfaction of customer-specific needs ensuring the delivery of cost-efficient services.
- Organizes, plans, prioritizes and coordinates field activities to best utilize available resources.
- Assesses performance of departmental indicators against current and future Power Service Shops targets.
- Ensures that departmental workforce is adequately skilled and trained to meet current and future job demands.
- Identifies, supports and contributes to development of action plans to close performance gaps.
- Develops and maintains open and direct communication with all central maintenance departments, especially those with direct customer access.
- Ability to work effectively with technical, outage, partner, and business entities, as well as other production managers/supervisors, labor representatives and staff support groups.
- Ability to effect a harmonious cultural change from an organization that reacts to problems to one that proactively resolves and ultimately prevents them.
- Ability to effect a harmonious cultural change from a jurisdictional oriented to a flexible, cross functional work force. -- Monitors central maintenance performance against plan and initiates appropriate actions that are required to achieve goals and objectives.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of industry drivers, technology, customers, regulation, and competitors and translates into competitive advantage.
- Determines customer expectations, and ensures customer priorities are properly integrated into business plans.
- Develops original, innovative approaches to work situations.
- Fosters an atmosphere that values quality, continuous improvement and creativity.
- Encourages prudent risk-taking and uses mistakes as an avenue for learning.
- Solid knowledge of equipment repair processes and power plant systems and equipment, as well as environmental requirements to ensure optimal operation.
- Must demonstrate the ability to integrate and motivate employees in order to develop a harmonious working environment.
- Encourages the initiation of ideas and improvements in order to increase operating efficiency, effectiveness, and reliability.
- Ability to translate project and operational goals into an effective organized team.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Must have extensive knowledge/experience of major repair and rebuild practices related to power system equipment including fossil, hydro, nuclear, and combustion turbine power plants and associated engineering, quality assurance, safety and environmental requirements.
Must have ability to deliver company services and supervise crews on a multi-shift operation dealing with major outages.
Should have an entrepreneurial spirit to develop and maintain business opportunities inside/outside.
Should possess and demonstrate business savvy and entrepreneurial abilities along with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Extensive travel is required.
