POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The applicant will be required to work within multi-disciplinary teams to provide sequences stratigraphic support for its members. The applicant must have a thorough knowledge of the relationships between bio-litho and sequence stratigraphies, together with their integration into sedimentologic analyses and log signatures.

The candidate must take an active leadership role in the above, applying its use in new reservoir fairway potential & prediction as it impacts Saudi Aramco s future exploration programs.

Have hands-on experience with a variety of major vendor software for generating general geologic maps & cross-sections.

The applicant should possess strong oral and written communication skills and be able to contribute in a team environment.


SELECTION CRITERIA:

Thorough practical experience & competency in mapping and cross-section computer programs e.g. Landmark, Geoframe, Petrosys.

Correlate wells integrating bio-litho and palynostratigraphies with sedimentology, petrography & seismic into a coherent sequence stratigrahic framework to support prospect generation.

Clear understanding of systems tracts, facies developments within same and the predictive applications of sequence analyses for an exploration program. The ability to incorporate FMI data interpretation into this framework would be highly advantageous.

General understanding of the major elements within hydrocarbon system and the ability to risk and rank prospects accordingly for exploration.

Bachelors degree in Geology or a related science. Graduate study in a specialized discipline of Geology, a related science or other extended special training is desirable.

Ten (10) years of experience, including at least 5 years as a specialist in his discipline. Incumbent must be recognized for his study efforts in his principle discipline by his peer group.
