POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Geological Interpretation Application Division (GIAD) supports and maintains integrated and advanced Seismic Interpretation and Visualization environments. Due to the high demand of the various applications and the increased number of exploration users utilizing these applications and after the implementation of Exploration Operation Room (EOR), additional staff is required to meet users requirements. Moreover, Seismic Interpretation Group has several imperative projects in 2008 and in the coming years to streamline and further enhance the Seismic Interpretation environment like the Large 3D Seismic Volume Interpretation and Visualization. Furthermore, the 2006-2016 Exploration Strategy plan calls for a tremendous increase in activity for 2008 and the coming years. The increase in Exploration activities will include the hiring of more Geoscientists and Engineers, which will translate to increased staffing need for EASD to meet the users requirements.

PRIMARY DAY TO DAY DUTIES:

Support the day-to-day operations of Geoscientists that are interpreting seismic data.

Provide advanced consultation and workflows for Prospect generation.

Aid in developing and supporting seismic visualization workflows and techniques.

Provide training on standard wrokstation based G&G applications.

Support sub-surface mapping functions.

Front-line support for all Area exploration computing needs.

Develop and mentor Saudi Arab employees and prepare them for advanced work capabilities.

SELECTION CRITERIA:

Minimum degree required is BS in GeoSciences or Computer Science. Advanced degree is preferred. 2-10 years minimum of experiences.

Experienced in supporting GEOFRAME, PETROSYS and RECALL Application.

Knowledgeable in prospect generation workflows and support.

Experienced in UNIX/LINUX workstation support.

Be able to teach one-on-one sessions or a works.

Highly skilled in application end-user support behavior and methodology.

knowledge of application Oracle database functions.

Knowledgeable in scripting and basic web tool development.
