NWS Brownfield Projects
A range of opportunities exist to join the Brownfield Commissioning Team as a Commissioning Engineer.
The Brownfield Commissioning Team undertakes a variety projects on the GWA, NRA platforms and the Karratha Gas Plant, covering the areas of: instrumentation, electrical and control systems, N2/he leak testing, hydrocarbon start-ups.
The Commissioning team supports those projects by providing guidance on Project execution and handover logic and then performs the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up phases of the Projects. This is a key development role and opportunity to get exposure to Projects and Operations.
Basic Responsibilities
Reporting to the Commissioning Team Leader the role is responsible for the development and offshore execution of commissioning and start-up procedures.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on the offshore assets as well as the gas plant, and become familiar with Project execution and other engineering and construction disciplines.
Key Job Responsibilities
* Produce commissioning and start-up work packs in your area of technical expertise (e.g. process equipment, control systems, instrumentation, mechanical equipment)
* Schedule the commissioning activities into the facility plans.
* Supervise and coordinate at site the pre-commissioning, commissioning and start-up of systems.
* Establish a working relationship with WEL and Services Contractor’s to ensure Woodside project requirements are met at all phases of the project and a smooth, effective handover and commissioning of individual systems.
* Input to budgets, schedules and plans to deliver commissioning services
* Attend HAZOP, HAZID, FATs to identify the hazards and environmental impacts associated with the commissioning phases, and then manage those hazards appropriately in consultation with projects and Operations HSE personnel.
* Involvement in technical design reviews as part of a Flawless approach.
* Maintain an overview of all Greenfield and Brownfield construction and installation activities to ensure handover condition with appropriate verification, ensuring the ability to commissioning and start-up the project as an integrated system.
* Establish a working relationship with the Operations Representative(s) and facility Operations, to ensure their requirements at handover, and during commissioning and performance testing, are met.
Qualifications
* 5 plus years experience in the Oil and Gas Industry with qualifications in the Process, instrument, controls, mechanical or electrical disciplines-site experience is an advantage.
* Commitment to the highest HSE standards associated with working in the hydrocarbon industry and site work.
* Have demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and oral.
* A willingness to learn and take on the challenges associated with commissioning.
