They also provide engineering and construction services to a number of clients that are centred around current refinery / petrochemical projects.
Job descriptionResponsible to: HR Manager
Principle Objectives: Leading the HR Team to deliver HR Strategy U objectives over a defined area of business in support of Directors business plans.
Manage a proactive HR service to directors, managers and employees.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of the HR function and to ensure a fit for purpose service to the business.
Maintain positive employee relations and ensure effective communications across business areas.
Facilitate managers to develop, motivate and empower employees to contribute to continued business success.
Deliver consistent HR policies, processes and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice.
Be commercially aware in the delivery of services across the business.
Main Responsibilities:
Management Support
• Ensure consistent professional advice and practical support to Directors and managers. Maintain effective communications.
Compensation and Benefits
• Provide guidance to ensure quality and standards of payroll reporting, which aligns terms and conditions handbooks and contractual obligations.
• Benchmarking of salaries U benefits internally and externally to determine Company’s position in market.
• Participate in onshore and offshore salary reviews.
• Where appropriate, effectively administer any discretionary bonus payments.
Managing Information
• Ensure consistent integrity of the HR database and providing consistent company reports to meet management, shareholder U KPI requirements. • Review and upgrade HR Process in line with legislation and best practice U ensure knowledge shared and consistent across business.
• Provide guidance and support on assignments.
Resourcing
• Develop recruitment strategy for area of responsibility.
• Liaise with Resourcing team to source suitable candidates within agreed timescales.
• Ensure appropriate advertising to meet business needs. Monitor service provided by Resourcing team.
• Be aware of redeployees within the group and ensure HR U the Resourcing team are giving active consideration to this group.
• Ensure adequate resourcing and utilisation of the HR Team.
• Identify emerging talent in area of responsibility, create realistic succession plans for employees to meet their career aspirations and share information with other parts of the business.
• Effective interaction with contracting personnel
Coaching U Mentoring.
• Promote coaching culture within business.
• Coach Managers and supervisors in HR Best Practice.
• Coach HR Team to develop skills and knowledge.
Performance Management
• Ensure there are effective tools and processes in place to manage Induction, Probation, Appraisal and Exit for the Company.
• Manage discipline, grievance, absence consistently reflecting current legislation and best practice.
• Provide management and employees with consistent advice and guidance.
Employee Relations
• Support Directors and managers in developing and maintaining positive employee relations. Liaise with relevant other stakeholders where appropriate.
• Support Directors and Managers in the management of risk to the Company and its clients both financially and through reputation.
Tendering/Business Development
• Provide innovation and comprehensive documentation in support of new business/extending present services.
• Accompany and support Directors and Managers in business development through client visits and presentations.
Commercial Awareness
• Ensuring full knowledge of all commercial contracts within area of responsibility.
• Work with Directors and Mangers to ensure commercial benefits achieved.
• Lead a team to maintain commercial viability of contracts.
Managing Projects
• Provide support in the management and delivery of projects and initiatives requiring HR input.
Training and Development Onshore
• Offer guidance and support to managers on training solutions and interventions available.
• Liaise with Learning U Development for any specific requirements outwith existing skills development schedules.
• Ensure annual appraisal is rolled out and actively encourage completion. Appraise and set objectives for HR team members.
Training and Development Offshore
• Where appropriate, ensure training matrix is developed and implemented for area of responsibility, in line with process.
• Work with commercial to ensure appropriate purchase orders in place to cover expenditure of approved matrix.
• Ensure all additional training outwith matrix is costed and administered under separate purchase orders.
• Where appropriate manage the outsourced training service provision to ensure quality of service and provide managers with sufficient information on training status.
• Ensure appraisals undertaken and provide advice on development activities, which need to be budgeted and agreed with operations.
Competence Assurance
• Work with Learning U Development to implement CPP in area of responsibility.
Communications
• Ensure effective communications across area of responsibility and within HR and Operations Teams generally.
Health & Safety Statement: Offshore/Location Visits
It is a requirement of this role to make regular offshore/location visits.
The listing of main responsibilities and main duties are not necessarily exhaustive and may be changed at management discretion to reflect the needs of the company.
• To be familiar with and have an understanding of the company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies.
• To conduct their work activities in such a manner so as to minimise the risk to their health and safety and the impact on the environment.
• Proactively Support Horizon Zero.
Emergency Duties: Participate in appropriate Emergency Response Teams.
Requirements• Masters degree in HR.
• Degree qualified.
• Previous experience in the leadership of an HR Team.
• Experience in Competence structures and delivering against these
• Knowledge of Tendering Process.
• Developing and maintaining positive client relationships.
• Managing change.
• Organisational development.
• Resourcing, retention and reward strategies, policies and processes.
• Managing Risk.
• Current legislative Knowledge.
• Operational industry Experience.
• Commercial Awareness.

• Clear communication skills.
